River Sediment Transport with an Underwater Camera [hightideexp]:  Being able to actually show sediment being moved by a stream adds so much to lessons on erosion, deposition, or sedimentary rocks.  Students are more interested in this video than I thought they'd be, which is always a great surprise.
2 min 24 sec

Picture
Rock Fall [Yosemite National Park]: Part of the Yosemite Nature Notes series, this is a very well-put together video. There's some cool slo-mo footage of a big rock fall from 2009.  A great video all around.
 8 mins.
Picture
Underwater Footage: Sediment & Wave Action [Ken Mankoff]:  Clearly shows sediment movement due to waves action and how abrasion occurs.
 3 mins.

Picture
Surface Area and Evaporation of Water [MisterGazda]: A basic concept but the time lapse really makes in noticeable.  Though this deals with evaporation, I apply the surface area concept to the weathering of rock.

I'm always trying to tie the science students learn in the classroom to the real world.  This video does that by relating the surface area/evaporation concept to skateparks and basketball.

Picture
And this video shows how surface area affects the melting of snow in my driveway.

Picture
Intro to Soil [Bozeman Science]:  Screencast-style lecture with good visuals.  Also touches on weathering and soil permeability.
9 min 21 sec

Picture
How Temperature Affects Chemical Reactions [MisterGazda]:  Basic demo showing how hotter temps cause a more bigger reaction between baking soda and vinegar.
2 min 35 sec

CAVES: Deep Under the Earth's Surface, Discovering Beauty and Science by Francesco Sauro [TED Talk]  Excellent overview of caves and cave exploration in the TED Talk format.  Great photos. Includes a detailed recounting of an expedition that explored some of the oldest caverns on Earth in South America.

14 1/2 mins

Picture
CAVES:  Carlsbad Caverns [National Parks]  Professionally produced overview of the caverns including the history of its discovery.
5 min 54 sec

Picture
CAVES Long Form Video:  Mysteries Underground [National Geographic]  This classic has been shown in classrooms since back in the VHS days, and with good reason.  A top-notch National Geographic production that covers a lot related to caves, with a good chunk of it devoted to the Lechuguilla cave system in New Mexico. Unfortunately, the video quality is lacking.
53 mins

Picture
How Waterfalls Form [G Cork] Solid description and visuals.  Sub-par video quality though.
2 min 18 sec
Picture
How Waterfalls Form [MisterGazda]: I couldn't find a satisfying animation showing waterfall formation so I made a [very] rudimentary one myself.  My students always like it, so I made a video of it.
5 min 14 sec

Picture
Niagara Falls Drone Footage [Winston Bohl]:  Extremely cool drone footage of Niagara Falls.
2 min 14 sec

Picture
Niagara Falls Ledge Collapse (1954) [British Movietone]:  Vintage footage of a large section of Niagara Falls collapsing into the river below.
1 min 32 sec

Picture
LONG FORM: Earth Revealed - Weathering and Soils [Annenberg Foundation]:  This suffers a bit from the fact that it has a heavy "80's educational video" vibe.  But if you can get past that, this has a lot of quality footage on weathering.
29 mins

Picture
Kaaterskill Falls, NY [NY TImes]:  Super-cool drone footage of these dramatic falls.  And here's the NY Times article in which this video appeared.
22 sec

Picture
Taiwan Rock Fall  [Daystar]: Dash-cam video of an insane rock fall.  Watch it once then be sure to go back to the beginning where you can see the boulder detach from the bedrock in the upper portion of the screen.  Crazy!
1 min 09 sec

The 2nd String: On the fringe of the topic.  But still cool.

ARTICLE: Restoring New Hampshire's Man on the Mountain (NY Times, June 2011)  The Old Man on the Mountain was a big point of pride for New Hampshirians (is that what they're called?).  So it was devastating to many in the state when a rock fall destroyed the famed granitic silhouette in 2003.  This article highlights the innovative attempt to restore the iconic view, describing the resulting profilers as "...cool or confounding, depending on whether you figure them out."
Picture
Ice Age Cave Art - 32 Symbols Found in European Caves [National Geographic]:  A researcher talks about cave art made between 10,000 and 40,000 years ago.  Beyond the commonly shown depictions of animals, there are the lesser-known 32 geometric symbols commonly found in caves across Europe.  Very cool.
