Videos:  video links are still being added...

Picture
Tornado 101 [National Geographic]:  Great mix of tornado footage and explanation of tornado basics.  Quality visuals.  Annoying 30 sec ad at the beginning.
3 mins
Picture
Hurricane 101 [National Geographic]: Another top-notch production from Nat Geo.  Great intro to hurricane basics geared toward MS and HS students, mixed with great real world footage and images.
3 mins.
Picture
Fronts Explained [Ryan Tidwell-Davidson]:
Quality explanation of the basics by a real TV meteorologist.   His ability to clearly show the movement is huge.
3 min 49 sec

Picture
Thunderstorm Time Lapses [ZT Research - VIMEO]:  Lightning at normal speed is very cool, but seeing it either slowed down or sped up adds a whole new dimension to it.  This video speeds up multiple lightning storms to jaw-dropping effect.  File under must-see!
1 min 51 sec
The amazing full-length version is here.  7 min 50 sec
A huge shout out to ZT Research for the tremendous effort to capture such amazing footage.  And it ain't easy, as you can gleam from a quick look at his equipment page.
Picture
The Coriolis Effect [NOVA]: Quality explanation of a difficult to teach topic.  I like the paper airplane visuals.

3 mins
Picture
The Truth About Toilet Swirl (Coriolis Effect) [Smarter Every Day/Veritasium]:  Two of the big science Youtube channels team up to do a controlled experiment that actually shows the Coriolis Effect in action in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres.  THIS is why the internet is amazing! Requires synching of 2 separate videos via this link.
8 mins

Picture
Cold and Warm Fronts[Keith Meldahl]: Shows the basic workings of fronts as a teacher talks over simple but effective animations.

2 min 25 sec
Picture
Joplin Tornado Before and After:
Before and after photos show the devastation of the 2011 F5 tornado that hit Joplin, MO.  Lame music.

4 mins
Picture
Supercells, Thunderstorm & Tornado Time Lapse Compilation:  Mesmerizing.  The time lapse of the T-storms is particularly striking.

5 mins

Picture
The best way to defog car windows [Mark Rober]:  This is good to show students because it (1)  addresses a real world problem (2)  takes an experimental approach (3)  does a great job explaining the relationship between humidity, temp and condensation/evap.  And I just love the towels absorbing water analogy.
6 1/2 mins
Picture
Hurricane Harvey [NY Times]:
The side-by-side comparison of before and after video really shows the dramatic scale of the flooding.

1 min 5 sec

Picture
Satellite Time Lapse of Hurricanes Irma and Jose [NY Times]
Excellent video showing the movement of these hurricanes over a whopping 6 days.  This does a great job doing the one thing I've always had trouble with:  showing how weather moves

Picture
Slo-mo Lightning (9000 fps) [ZT Research]:  Lightning slowed down to such a slow speed is nothing short of mesmerizing.
1min 48 sec

The 2nd String  A bit obscure or tangentially related to the topic.  But still cool.

Picture
Slo-mo Lightning on the Plains (ZT Research]:  This video has a very cool, surreal vibe with the open plain bathed in an eerie soft glow and the slow drag of the wiper across the windshield (!).  This is more subtle than the previous video, with the main payoff being toward the end.

3 min 24 sec
Picture

Tornado derails freight train: Shows the shear force of a tornado.  A student favorite.

44 secs
Picture
Flying into a Hurricane [NY Times]
See how hurricane data is collected as a reporter tags along as an Air Force plane flies into Hurricane Irma.
 2 min 41 sec

Other stuff

Picture
Tornado Simulator [National Geographic]:  Extremely cool simulator has you select possible tornado creating weather conditions and then watch as F0 up to F5 tornados hit a farm.  Quite exciting and really gives students a sense of how powerful tornados really are.  A class favorite!
Picture
Real-time global wind map [Windyty]:  Great teaching tool, especially to show cyclonic and anti-cyclonic wind patterns.
Picture
Cloud Appreciation Society:  It's really cool that a thing called The Cloud Appreciation Society exists.  And their photo gallery will reach out and grab anyone's interest (though it used to be sub-divided by cloud type and easier to navigate - I'm not sure what happened.)  I've never understood why clouds aren't a bigger part of standard school curriculums - clouds are awesome.
