In my photos and frames, I see the lure and beauty of objects and materials that are usually overlooked. Sunlight, shadows and unique composition transform mundane, utilitarian objects into striking visual moments. Making frames grew from my attraction to old lumber - the rich browns of the wood, the lathe lines, the stains from the nails, and the wear and blemishes from being worked. I climb into dumpsters to get these materials and carefully select each piece to achieve a look that feels right. My photos and frames work well together, almost paradoxically, to create multifaceted pieces that are unique, genuine and successfully put forth my artistic vision.
