Glenwood to Ouray. More great scenic driving.

"You finish pumping the gas and I'll just run into the gas station to use the bathroom and impulse purchase some flippin' Nibs."

Montrose skatepark. Skating in skateparks is super fun.  But beyond that part I find them really interesting as artistic/engineering centric installations, designed solely for play and fun.  This one may not have been overly fun to skate but it's interesting to see where the designer's head was at.

 [Next to skatepark in Montrose.] I remember seeing guys surfing on standing waves in rivers like this on a Mountain Dew* commercial in the early 80s. I thought it was so novel and cool. And then I didn’t see anything like it for about 25 years.

* back in the 80s Mountain Dew always had people doing cool stuff in the commercials - hang gliding, surfing, rock jumping. Very much like Red Bull today. Red Bull’s ads are kinda like Mountain Dew ads on Red Bull.

Now this one was incredibly fun to skate  Amazing location. Ridgway, CO

I’ve definitely had those days when my jumper was so hot they need a fire extinguisher for the net.

"Hey, we have an hour to kill before we can check into the Airbnb,  let's find something to do."  A quick Google search, this waterfall hike popped up, 3 mins out of our way, big payoff. Major score!

Ouray is quite a town.

Love the variation in and vibrancy of the colors of rocks in this stream

Conglomerate is not common to see out in the field, and it's always been a rock I've liked.  This is the best conglomerate I've ever seen. By far.

Really huge clasts (that's what the individual pieces are technically called.)
