I've been really drawn to the American west ever since I first went out there in 1994. I try to get out there every year. We were luck to able to work in a short 5 day trip to Colorado even with my new job (NOTE: asking for 3 days off during your 2nd week at a new job is generally not recommended. Do as I say not as I do...) Denver airport Denver early morning sun ice machine! We got to meet up with my college roommate Al (aka ABD) for breakfast in Denver. Man, I haven't seen him in 25 years. It's weird to feel really close to someone and yet not see them for 25 years. It just happens. But I still love ABD, such a great guy. I'm really happy Stacey and the kids got to meet Al and vice versa. I got so caught up in the moment I forgot to take a picture. So here's Al (left) from a post I did a few years ago saying how much he looks like the sax player in Andy Frasco's band. love the drive west on I-70 runaway truck ramp! stopped in Frisco for lunch Wild flow bowl at Edwards skatepark. It would take me days to figure out how to skate this thing. Love this section of I-70. Driving along the Colorado River in this stretch I just had to put on Shovel and Rope's great new song "Colorado River" (below) The bowl at the Gypsum skatepark (hardness of 2) on the other hand was much easier to figure out. Danny and I were ripping it hard in short order. Cool town name, though pretty impractical Glenwood Springs for the night. Glenwood Springs gets an A+ for being able to make an area under a bridge so nice. Bravo! Stayed at this weird A-frame Airbnnb.

Looks like you’re having a blast!! I’m glad to see you’re doing well. My favorite picture was the runway truck ramp. I would love to see one in action in person someday! I was driving to Boston with Oli a few months ago and we saw one but lucky (and unfortunately?) there was no trucks on it.

That looks like an awesome trip, Mr. G! I love the airport picture! (Baggage claim?) The scenery in the West seems unparalleled, except possibly by Ireland (My favorite -- top of my recommendation list!). I have never made it out West, but hope to at some point...

Thanks Lion. That Denver photo is an escalator. I definitely suggest the American West to any easter-coaster. Refreshingly different.
